It has been over three months since Notes for Support launched and this post is long overdue. I want to give my sincerest thank you on behalf of our organization to our note writers, sponsors, donors, supporters, and volunteers who made Notes for Support what it is today.
I'm humbled and amazed by the notes we've received from all around the world, from people in all walks of life. Even after reading thousands of notes, I am struck by each one we receive. These notes have made me cry, laugh, and smile, and judging by the responses we've gotten from hospitals, they have touched thousands of lives the same way. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your heartfelt, deeply personal, and moving notes of encouragement. They truly make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling right now.
Thank you to Alex Chung, the Founder & CEO of GIPHY, who reached out to me when our project was first launching. Thank you for investing in us during our early stages. It has made all the difference and no words could express our gratitude.
Thank you to Brother Industries for sending us a generous supply of printing materials, offering incredible support (shout out to Lazaro and Linus!), and being all-around amazing people. Your sponsorship has made our note producing process so much more effective and has been a crucial component to our scalability!
Thank you to all our individual donors who contributed a large portion of our funding. Your support has helped us ship notes to over a hundred hospitals all across the country. We are eternally grateful for all that you helped make happen!
In particular, we've received thousands of notes from elementary/middle school students in New York, California, and other states. We would like to thank the teachers who shared this website with their students—their notes were very heartfelt and at times humorous. Additionally, thank you to everyone who shared Notes for Support on their social media! That alone brought hundreds of people to our site every day and we are very grateful for your support.
Thank you to Neta Retter at Facebook for offering an incredible amount of support and getting us connected when we were first launching Notes for Support. We would also like to give a special thanks to Cindy O'Connor for generously volunteering her time researching hospitals, getting contact information, promoting us extensively on social media, and offering continuous support.
A special thank you to the wonderful San Francisco 49ers team for putting Notes for Support in the spotlight. There is no doubt that we wouldn't have gotten as many note writers as we have today if not for their help!
Thank you to Maria Maka at Wasserman for producing a gorgeous style guide and fresh visuals for our website. Thank you to Michael Leibel (Bloomberg) and Olivia Romeo (Deloitte) for managing our Instagram. And another big thank you to Cindy O'Connor for helping us get in contact with more hospitals!
And finally, a huge thank you to my mom and younger sister, who helped me print, cut, and ship every single note. I am incredibly grateful for being able to spend long nights together running this organization. This is by no means the end, but just an overdue thank you to everyone involved. It has been a blessing and I am truly humbled to be a part of this project.
With deep gratitude,
Notes for Support is a website where anyone can submit an encouraging note to a COVID-19 healthcare worker or patient for free. The notes are then printed and sent to hospitals across America. To send a note of your own, please visit NotesForSupport.org.
